MARS liver dialysis system

MARS is a potential game changer for acute liver failure.

A new liver dialysis system—the Molecular Adsorbents Recirculating System (MARS)—is a potential game changer for patients in acute liver failure who either fail to qualify for a transplant or who are running out of time while waiting for a donor organ.

Emory now offers MARS, which has FDA approval, to treat select patients with acute liver failure due to drugs or toxins.
